Challenge
The challenge for Malt is twofold: to bridge the gap between freelance payments and customer repayments, and to support Malt’s international expansion.
Every day, Malt connects over 700,000 freelancers with businesses of all sizes. Promptly paying freelancers after mission completion is key to Malt’s success This means balancing fast payments for freelancers with the accounting processes of large clients.
As Malt expands internationally, the need to compensate freelancers in multiple currencies, such as USD and GBP, became clear. Addressing these dual challenges was at the heart of the Malt x Aria collaboration.
The Aria Solution
With Aria’s API integration, freelancers access rapid payment for their assignments in just a few clicks.
Key for Malt in selecting a partner was the ability to seamlessly add advance payment within their existing workflows, integrated into their technological environment (webhooks, API availability, etc.).
Thanks to the expertise of the Aria teams and the collaborative dynamics, the deployment of instant payment options and Malt’s back office was completed within a few weeks.

The API integration of Aria has also enabled Malt to optimize its strategic decision-making, particularly in assessing the credit risk of SMEs with whom the platform collaborates. Malt’s teams can now make instant payment decisions based on solid understanding of counterparts provided by Aria. Acceptance of reliable debtors and rejection of risky ones is automated to protect the platform and its users.
